HALEY BERRY

My name is Haley Berry. I am currently a dual enrolled senior and high school journalist at George County High School in Lucedale, Mississippi. As a child I was intrigued with reading, writing and designing, and once I reached high school I realized that there was a place for me. I joined journalism my sophomore year, not knowing the life-altering experience the program would have on me.
My passion for journalism began as a simple story assignment for the school newspaper but after three years of being a part of The Student Press Newspaper, journalism is a part of my identity. My junior year I was honored to serve as the Features Editor, and after being awarded 1st place in News writing at the conclusion of my junior year, I was promoted to News Editor and Editor in Chief my senior year. While majority of my focus and my time has been spent on print journalism, I have assisted in yearbook design and broadcast publication as well. As a journalist who is open to learning new skills and experimenting with new techniques, my main objective is to develop into a well-rounded and a more experienced journalist.
